Computer Science Education

Is it possible to teach people programming or are some people just hopeless? Well, perhaps with better tools and techniques it might be somewhat possible. Help us find better ways!

Extending Thonny: Making the best Python IDE for beginners even better

Thonny (http://thonny.org) is an integrated development environment (IDE) for beginner programmers. Its main advantage is that its visualization of program execution targets beginners, showing the evaluation of individual subexpressions and the function call stack more appropriately. Thonny is used in multiple introductory courses as well as MOOCs with thousands of students.

There are many possible improvements possible here. For Estonian students, see Programmeerimise algõppeks mõeldud Pythoni IDE, Thonny, täiendamine, but it is also possible to do M.Sc. thesis on Thonny in English. Contact Aivar Annamaa for more information.

RoboPython = Robotics + Python

If you like Python and Robotics, you could add Python support for different robotics platforms that are used in education of small children. Adding support for python or some other textual language, it would also allow university students to play with these toys.

For Estonian descriptions, see Erinevatele robootikavidinatele Pythoni toe lisamine. Contact us directly if you only speak English.

Visualization of algorithms

Need on genereeritud Härmel Nestra loodud süsteemiga.
